Whether you want to understand company policies, safety routes to adopt, management protocols or licensing and operating procedures, these types of tools can help you in all of these.
Keep a copy of your checklist with your wedding planning notes and give a copy to anyone who is helping you with your wedding plans, such as your maid of honor, groom and your mom. Also keep a copy on your noticeboard or somewhere where it can be quickly referred to should you need it.
Each PM has their own style and set of tools, but if you are working on building your own toolbox, the project checklist is an important item to have when defining the project itself. In summary, each project manager can develop their own project checklist to help them define the rules and framework for each project they manage. Building the checklist and tools that support the methodology will help keep the project organized and easier to manage.
Although you can find some templates online that will give you some help getting started, you are going to be better off if you prepare your own party planning checklist. Each party is unique, so a list that you find online will probably not have everything you are going to need to make sure your party is a big success.
Depending on what your company does you may want to download more than one template for a checklist so that you can create a variety of lists for each task. You can print them on different colored paper to make sure they are easy to see and use a variety of fonts to make them catchy enough that your employees will actually enjoy using them and doing each job right the first time.
Once your tasks are in order you can start determining how far ahead of the party they are going to need to be accomplished. You list categories might be something like "More Than 3 Weeks Before", "2-3 Weeks Before", "1 Week Before", "3 Days Before", "2 Days Before", "1 Day Before", "Party Time!". Each one of the tasks on your list should fall into one of these categories.
